The Chronicles of Sumika Kihaku

An explosion could be heard throughout the Hidden Breeze Village,
home of the Kihaku, Zetsumei, and many other families and clans. A mother, who earned the nickname "Trailia" for her remarkable trailing and tracking abilities as a Kunoichi, and the rest of the Kihaku Clan was thrown into Battle Mode. Shouts were heard left and right that Snow Ninja bombarded their homes. "Get the Kiahkus!!" one elite Jounin shouted. Trailia, in fear of her one year-old child called her friend Taitsu into her bedroom at the Kihaku residense. Right then she remembered a childhood friend from when she was in Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village. When Taitsu came to her room, she told him with a hint of a smile plastered on her face, "I want you to take my child to an old friend's house. If he hasn't moved yet his apartment
should be where the black dot on this map of a Konoha apartment complex." She had taken out her Konoha maps and put a circle around a door on a large building. Taitsu saw where the circle was then he, too, smiled. "So you want me to take her to 'his' house," he said under his breath. Taitsu nodded, still smiling, gently took the bundle of cloth in his arms and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Taitsu finally arrived, his chest heaving slightly, in Konoha. Scince he had already memorized where the guy's place was, he caught his breath then
dashed toward the said home. In less than a minute he was standing in front of a wooden door which was identical to the rest. He took the note Trailia
wrote out of his vest pocket then wrote the name 'Hatake, Kakashi' on the envelope. Taitsu banged on the door twice then heard muffled footsteps inside the small apartment. The door creaked open, a man with unruly silver hair and in dark grey cotton pants and a black T was seen behind the door.
"T-Taitsu, what are y-you doin' here?" he asked, half asleep half in utter shock. "Look Kakashi, I don't have much time so I need ou to take this," he outstreched his arms, and gave him the letter. "Oh, by the way, Trailia says 'hi.'" Suddenly Taitsu dissapeared after a whispered 'sorry.' Kakashi sighed and took the unknown bundle of cloth into his house.
His apartment was pretty bare, a bed with a green fuuma shuriken embroided quilt in his room, a four-man table in the kitchen and a couch, a wooden chair and a desk was in the living room. Kakashi carried the bundle sleepily to the empty wooden desk and sat in th chair. He slowly opened the grey envelope assigned to him. Inside was a note that read:
Dear Scarecrow,
Sorry to bother you like this, but I need you to take care of my little girl.
Our village is currently being destroyed, and I don't want anything bad to
happen to her. The reason I picked the word 'destroyed' because we won't be
able to save the buildings. Again, I'm really sorry about this but other than my
husband you're the only one I can completely trust. We will visit her as soon as
we are caught up on missions and the village is reconstructed.
Your Buddy,
"Trailia" Kihaku
P.S. Her name is Sumika Kihaku.
P.S.S. Sorry about me being so casual while addressing this, but I knew
this would happen soon enough.

Sent into yet another state of shock, Kakashi dropped the note. Destroyed? Sheesh, she did sound to casual. Kakashi gazed upon the slumbering child and smiled, his mask taken off. Sumika Kihaku - Dwelling Soul. Seems like a nice name. Kakashi Hatake went back to his bed, deciding he would deal with the diapers and such in the morning.
XxXxXx_____________________
The morning sunlight creeped through Kakashi's window, awakening him. He sat up , yawned, rubbed his mis-matched eyes and got out of bed to do his morning routine. After getting out of his bathroom he went into the living room to check on little Sumika. Such a cute little child, he thought. Kakashi then heard a knock on his door. Kakashi quickly put his mask up and went to open his door. It was Hokage-sama. "Greetings, Kakashi. May I come in?" he asked. Confused, Kakashi replied, "Erm, okay Hokag-sama." He stepped out of the way so the Hokage could step inside. Instantly, Hokage-sama turned his gaze upon Sumika. "Ah, Taitsu-san told me bout this child. Sumika, was it?" Sandaime said partly to himself, slightly grinning. "Kakashi-san, I would like to talk to you about her." "What about Sumika?" Kakashi asked. Hokage-sama sat comforably on his couch and motioned for Kakashi to sit next to him. "You see, I have learned that Sumika over there is in fact the successor of
the famous Kihaku Clan. Why has her mother left her child with you?" Kakashi sighed. "Trailia wrote in the letter that she completely trusts me and it was short notice," Kakashi quietly replied. The Hokage nodded. "Ah yes, young Trailia. I haven't seen her in a long time." 'Neither have I,' Kakashi thought sadly. He would never admit it, but he kind of missed her. The way she was able to cheer him up after his father, Sakumo killed himself, or when his best friend had died. "Hokage-sama. . . If it wouldn't be too much trouble for you, could I, you know, look after her?" he asked, a sense of hope in his voice. ". . .Alright. I will have an ANBU start on her file," Hokage answered. "Thank you." The Hokage stood up and walk towards the door. "Ah yes, and Kakashi," Hokage-sama reached into a pocket and tossed a small box in Kakashi's direction. "Taitsu-san told me to give this to you." With that being said he walked out the door towards the Hokage Tower.
Kakashi sat the box in his lap and opened it. Inside was a tiny wrapped up gift and another note.
Kakashi,
Here's a list of things you'll need to look after Sumika. I really didn't want to write this, but
Trailia made me do it. -_-;;
1. Packge of diapers
2. Baby Powder
3. Organic canned baby food
4. Formula
That's basically all you need. Oh yeah, and that package is a necklace that allows
Sumika to use her family's white chakra sparingly until she can discover it for herself.
P.S. I NEVER want to have kids. . .

Kakashi chuckled at the last sentence, He opened the package and it was a sky blue double pyramid shaped necklace tied to some black string. Engraved on it was a dragon breathing fire. Odd. Kakashi put the necklace in the box and put the box in a desk drawer.

There was a lump squirming under a dark blue blanket on a twin sized bed in a corner of a dark room, the Moon giving some light. A girl with short, messy jet black hair awoke with a start, panting. "What was that?" she breathed. Deciding she needed some fresh air Mika got out of bed. She had
a black v-neck t-shirt and black cotton capris PJ s. She picked up her coat, midnight blue with grey fur around he hood, put it on, and went outside. She was carrying a teddy bear Kakashi got her for her 4th Birthday yesterday, which was the day she became a Genin, and she named it Emi. She was just walking around the village when she saw, and heard, an explosion at the North Gate nearly the size of the Hokage Tower. Some people woke up and screamed their lungs out as ANBU and Jounin dashed to the scene, but Kakashi wasn't there. Crap! she thought and ran into a nearby alley to hide. Again she heard screams, but they were screams of pain comming from the elite shinobi.
Sumika started to sob. She never liked that kind of scream. Heck, she didn't like screaming period. She looked up to find familiar-looking foreign ninja. Kakashi said those were called "Snow Ninja" before, but he didn't give me any reason why I should've kown that. Now I do. Sumika's thoughts were cut off from a gigantic Snow Shinobi, grinning evilly and
cackling like a madman.
XxXx Kakashi POV xXxX
He woke up with a start from weird screams of what sounded like death wheezes and people screaming in pain. Kakashi looked over to Mika's bed, but she was gone. "Shit!" he yelled to himself. Kakashi quickly shot out of bed and got into his ANBU uniform
then grabbed his mask and dissapeared. He was on top of the complex, looking for Sumika. Then Kakashi saw a little girl being cornered by an enormous shinobi. He was roughly 6'5" and at least 220 pounds. Kakashi's Sharingan eye widened at this, it being the only eye opened.
Kakashi dashed from the roof and headed towards the alley,

XxXx Sumika POV xXxX

The scary gorilla man slowly trotted closer to her, his insane laugh getting louder and more menacing with every step. Then there was a flash of silver and blue, then she saw Kakashi standing in front of her with his right hand through the man's chest. "Keep your hands off of the girl," Kakashi said calmly but furously. Sumika had never seen him with blood all over him or hear him this angry before. She started to sob with her head against her knees and her arms around her legs. He kicked the man out of the alley and turned to face me. Sumika lifted her head up a little, tears still rolling off of her fair-skinned face. Kakashi smiled under his mask, his eyes forming two upward arcs. "You know better than to wander off like that," he said so quietly that only they could hear. He stuck out his left arm, wanting Sumika to grab his hand. "I. . . I-I'm sorry Kakashi," she whispered, holding back sobs. Though hesitant at first, Sumika grabbed his hand and they were off, back to their house.

Kakashi was jumping from rooftop to rooftop, holding Sumika on his back and she held her hands loosely around his neck. He dropped from the roof of the aparment complex and set Sumika down. "Now, Sumika, I need you to go insi-" There was a blur, and Kakashi lay unconcious on the ground.
"K. . .K-K-Kakashi?. . . K-Kakashi!?!?" Sumika yelled, fearing that he was dead. She was about to shake him to see if he was alive, but just then 10 Snow Nin appeared behind the out-cold Kakashi. "He was able to kill Chizoku with a single blow, but I was able to kill him with one strike, also.." the tallest one mumbled. "G-go away!!" Sumika screamed at them. The shinobi laughed. "And what are you gonna' do about it?" one asked. Sumika got angry. Her eyes, pupils and all, turned snow white, as did her hair as a greyish glow pulsated around her. "You'll pay for that..." she said menacingly. So menacing, in fact, all of the shinobi took a couple steps back. Sumika jumped in front of Kakashi, furious and all of the tears stopped coming, all that remained was hate and rage. She dissapeared then reappeared in behind the Snow Nin who possibly killed Kakashi and elbowed him through a wall. She threw punches and kicks so powerful that she could crumble boulders in one single strike. Still, more and more came. She fought and fought until she stopped, stood there, then fainted. However, all through the battle, Kakashi had awaken and witnessed the entire thing. He was somehow drained though, so all he could do was move his head up ever so slightl to see. "S. . .Sumika," he whispered, but the shinobi didn't hear. Abrubtly, in a shadowy blur, an 8 year old boy knocked out 2 Snow Ninja. "Stay away from my cousin!" he yelled, and soon two hooded adults in black trench coats knocked out or killed the rest. One of them turned to Kakashi and gasped. "Kakashi!?"
XxXx Kakashi POV xXxX

'That voice. . . so familiar. . .' Then all went black.
XxXx Regular POV xXxX
Kakashi tried to lift his head, but he passed out from blood loss. The hooded figure who said his name dashed to Kakashi's limp form, extremely suprized. "Trailia, I think we should get them inside," the second figure suggested. "Good idea," the boy and the woman named Trailia said at the same time. "Vrain, you get Scarecrow over here, I'll get Sumika," Trailia said, and they carried the two unconcious bodies to the Konoha Hospital.
XxXx Sumika POV xXxX
All of that darkness was about to drive her mad, but then she saw a light. Sumika walked in its direction, the glow getting larger anf larger, then all was black again. She slowly opened her eyes, and four people were with Sumika in a white hospital room. One was Hokage-sama, she knew that, and two seemed familiar. Both had black trench coats on, one was male, the other female. The woman had the same hair as me but longer, to the bottom of her shoulder blades. She had onyx eyes, and fair skin. The man had dirty blonde hair and the same eyes as Sumika, silver. Then she had a flashback to the same two people. "No way. . .M-mom, D-dad??" Sumika whispered. The two smiled. The kid, who looked twice her age grinned. He saw her look at him. "Call me Drift if ya want, cuz'!" the kid said happily. Okay, so he was my cousin. . . "W-wait, what happened to Kakashi?" she asked. Mom and Dad's smiles died a bit. "He passed out from blood loss and hasn't woken up yet, but a Medic Nin said he should be fine," Mom said. " Can we go see him, Mom?" Sumika sat up, her back feeling
a bit sore. "Sure, let's go."

XxXx Regular POV xXxX
Trailia took Sumika's hand and led her, Vrain and Drift into a room a few doors away. Trailia slowly opened the door, and there he was. Kakashi was lying in a hospital bed, an IV in his arm and a heart and pulse moniter on the other side of the bed. Sumika had a saddened look on her face, but Trailia looked a bit agitated. She walked over to his bed and poked him pretty hard. The supposed Kakashi dissapeared in a puff of smoke. The real Kakashi appeared behind her and smiled. "Hey there," he said coyly. Trailia jumped and turned around. Sumika and Drift giggled while Vrain held it it with a smile. "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR!?!?" Trailia yelled, and Sumika, Drift, and Vrain had to plug their ears, but Kakashi just anime smiled under his mask. " Your temper surely hasn't changed at all." Kakashi looked in Vrain's direction. "Hey Vrain, long time no see." Kakashi held up a hand gesturing a greeting, then he felt a pain in is back. "Shit. . .Still hurts," he whispered to himself and sat on his bed. "Ugh, can I get out of here pwease?
I wanna go home," Kakashi said, immitating a small begging child asking a mother. A vain appeared on her head for a second, but then she saw his face, what was visible, but she couldn't help but laugh. "Heh heh, you're such a dobe, Scarecrow," she managed to say. Kakashi grinned a her use of the nickname she gave him, scince that's what his name meant. "See ya!" Kakashi waved then dissapeared again. Trailia sighed then rolled her eyes. "Let's get back to the house so the baka doesn't do anything stupid. He might still be delusional from blood loss. Or the blow to his head."

XxXx Kakashi POV xXxX
He walked into his apartment, suprisingly untouched scince he was last in there. Kakashi walked over to the desk and sat down. He looked at one of the droors that he hasn't touched for 3 years. Kakashi's right hand reached for the handle than slowly opened the droor.
The necklace was still intact, and he took it out then closed it shut. "Might as well let her parents give it to her when she goes to her home," he said quietly. Now he's going to miss them both. Then two of them walked inside, giggling and smiling.

XxXx Regular POV xXxX
Sumika and Trailia walked inside, Trailia had just told her something humrous about Kakashi when he was a kid. Trailia saw Kakashi at his desk, apparantly thinking. She saw a necklace in his hand. "I thought I would give you the liberty," he said quietly. Sumika saw something
in Kakashi's hand that caought her eye. "Mommy, is that the necklace thingy you told me about?" she asked. Trailia nodded then smiled.

XxXx Trailia POV xXxX
She walked over to the Scarecrow, and whispered in his ear. "I might sound weird, but do you want her to stay with you? I mean, we could write to each other to keep updated on what's going on, and you two could visit from time to time." Trailia saw Scarecrow grin at that. "And I might sound weird, but alright," he whispered back. "Besides, my older sister and brother had kids and they died so I have to take care of 'em." She frowned at the last part.

XxXx Kakashi POV xXxX
Wow, her two older siblings are dead. Marquesa and Kit are gone. . . "I-I'm sorry," Kakashi said to her. She replied, "I'll be alright.."

XxXx Sumika POV xXxX
They keep whispering to each other. What's goin' on?? "Kashi', Mom, what are ya talkin' about?" Sumika asked. They chuckled "Nothing really," they said at the same time. Weird.

It was late at night, but she couldn't sleep at all. So Sumika crawled out of her bed. She was wearing a navy T-shirt and
black cotton pants. Sumika walked over to Kakashi's bed and climbed in. "Hey there," he whispered softly. "Hello," Sumika replied
in the same way. Less than five minutes later she was fast asleep.

Two Snow Ninja appeared in Kakashi's bedroom without a sound. They spotted the 7 year old girl in his bed.
"That's her," the male one said. "Rouga, I'll get her. You keep lookout," the female repied. Rouga did as he was asked and waited
by the front door. In three minutes the woman came back, carrying Sumika like a baby even though she was at the bottom
of her shoulder blades in height. "Great, let's go." then they dissapeared.

Morning sunlight came in through his window, then he opened his eyes. Where's Sumika? Kakashi thought. He got up and searched the house.
He found a letter on my desk.

Kakashi Hatake,
I apologize, but we have taken the Kihaku child.
Dotou ordered my partner and I to get her,
and obviously our mission was a success!
Thank You,
Rouga, Nadare
P.S. If you go to the place without Spring, don't run
away again.
Kakashi was so angry he accidently started up Raikri and decintegrated the note.

Kakashi got dressed in his Jounin uniform and headed over to the Hokage Tower.
When he got to Hokage-sama's office, he was smoking a pipe and signing papers. "H-Hokage-sama,
two Snow Ninja captured Sumika and took her to Snow Country. . . They were able to do it so
quietly that the didn't wake me..." Kakashi lowered his head. Hokage-sama looked suprized. "Who
did it?" "I-I'm not sure, but it ivolved Kazahanna Dotou and Rouga Nadare..." "Kakashi-san, I'm sorry
but we won't be able to sign missions to that country yet, however, if someone makes a request
to go to Snow Country for a mission I'll let you know," Hokage-sama explained. Kakashi looked
dissapointed. "Th-thank you Hokage-sama.." Kakashi turned around and went home.

When Kakashi walked back inside his house he slammed the door behind him. He immediatly
took out a piece of paper and a pen then began to write a letter.
Dear Trailia,
I'm sorry about this... Nadare Rouga captured Sumika.
You know him, always arrogant and loud, but he
somehow was able to take her so quietly that he
didn't wake me. I need to be able to go to the
Snow Country, but I need two more teammates.
If you and another wishes to help me, write back.
~Scarecrow~
Kakashi folded the letter and put it in an envelope. He pulled down his mask, bit
his thumb and made the signs of the boar, dog, monkey, bird, and sheep, then summoned his
trusty dog, Pakkun. "Whadda ya want, 'Kashi?" the pug asked. "I need you to take this to
Trailia and Vrain if it's not too much trouble," Kakashi answered. "It is, but I guess I don't
have a choice," Pakkun said. "Nope," Kakashi replied. Pakkun took the letter and ran off.
Kakashi yawned. It was 2:16 am. He changed into a black T and long black shorts then
crept into his bed. He fell asleep in less than a minute.

An orange-clad boy with whiskers and blonde hair was walking around,
with Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha and the infamous Kakashi Hatake at his side. The boy,
Naruto, started looking around, glad that the mission was almost over. Kakashi was reading
Come Come Paradise, as always, and Sakura was doing the same as Naruto. Sasuke just had
his arms folded and turned his head slightly, looking around also without looking interested.
He spotted a girl walking toward Team 7 with a grin, ans Sasuke smirked. "Sumika."
Naruto looked confused, as did Sakura, and they turned towards their sensei.
"Who's-" Naruto screamed, but recieved a quaint blow to the head. "Naruto! Don't talk so
rudely!" Sakura yelled at Naruto."If I were you, you should listen to her." Sakura jumped and
spun around to punch who made the statement, but Sumika caught her fist. "Yo," she said
with a grin. Sumika let go of her fist and walked over to Kakashi and smiled. "Hi," she said plainly.
She had a black trench coat with a thin grey vest underneath, black sandals and pants, and had had
the same hair and eyes, but her hair was slightly matted and down to the middle of her shoulderblades.
Her skin was paler than before, Kakashi pointed out. She looked almost unnaturally thin, and her eyes were
heavy and tired-looking. Yet she smiled. When the Snow Nin team threw the kunai that shot up giant
icicles, one shoved through her left leg so she had crutches. "You look dead," Kakashi whispered bluntly.
Sumika frowned immaturely. "And you look like a scarecrow," Sumika retorted. Naruto chuckled.
Sumika swerved a little, obviously tired and drained scince her chakra has been usable for a day. Right
when she was about to fall, someone appeared to catch her. He stood her back up and stared at Kakashi,
who stared back.
He was 5'5", an inch taller than Sumika, and he had on a face mask, similar to Kakashi's eccept black.
He also had on a dark green dress shirt with a black T underneath, black sandals and jeans, messy dark brown hair
and green eyes. "Who are you?" Kakashi asked casually, and the boy smiled under his mask. "Kurushii Mayoke," he
answered cooly. Just then a boy a half-inch taller than Kurushii walked up to him. Sumika smiled again. "Hey Legend."
"Yo, Mika," he said cheerfully. Legend was wearing a white T with a golden, sleeveless jersey on top. He had a pair of
black shorts that were just below his knees and black sandals, too. His sandy blonde hair was styled similar to
Sasuke's but his bangs and spikes in the back were thinner and slightly longer. He had a black headband on, too. Legend
looked at Kakashi, while Kurushii started a conversation with Sumika. "Who's the old man?" he asked. Sumika chuckled.
"He's only 26, Legend, and that's Kakashi Hatake," she told him. He looked suprized. "26!?!?!" Legend yelled, and Sumika
hit him on the head. "Shut up, dobe," she told him somberly. Legend sat up and rubbed his head, and Naruto started
cracking up. "HAHAHAH!!! A CRIPPLE ALMOST KNOCKED YOU OUT!!!!" Naruto screamed, still laughing, then
Sakura hit him in the head. "Naruto!" she yelled at him. Kurushii sighed. "Nice first impression on the Copy Nin,
blockhead," he said to Legend, looking tired, agitated and bored. "Alright everybody, our ship is here," Kakashi said loud enough so that his team and Sumika's friends couldhear him. Legend and Naruto rushed ahead to she ship while everyone else walked.

While walking to the ship, Sumika wanted to ask Kakashi something. "Kakashi?" she asked. "What?" "Umm, what exactly have you been doing these past four years?"she asked, obviously curious. "Well, I quit ANBU and now I'm just a Jounin, for one. Hmm, other than being a sensei for Team 7, nothing out of the ordinary," Kakashi answered. "Oh." Nothing else was said until everyone was on the ship. Then it became chatting hour, even though the trip lasted for three days. Kakashi was reading his orange book, while Sumika was trying to take it, Naruto was talking with Legend and Kurushii, Sakura was joining the conversation, and Sasuke just listened. "HA! GOT IT!!" Sumika yelled, holding up the orange book triumphantly with a grin. Naruto and Sakura's eyes were the size of their heads and Sasuke smirked, while Kurushii and Legend were indifferent. Kurushii looked closely, and saw a black haze behind Sumika. "Gimme that, cuz'," the haze said. In a second, a person who was two inches taller than Kurushii appeared, holding Kakashi's book. He had long, messy black hair and two small lines on his pale face, on either side of his nose. He had a trech coat zipped down to his waist, baggy black jeans and crimson eyes. "Drift!" she yelled. "Gice it back!!" She tried reaching for it, but with her leg as it is and her being shorter than him by three inches, she couldn't get the book. "Sorry, but no," the boy named Drift said. He walked over to Kakashi and handed him the book. "Sorry 'bout Mika. You know how annoying she can get," he said sarcasticly. Sumika frowned and Kakashi chukled. "Yeah, I do." Drift walked on the other side of Kakashi and looked out into the sea. "It's getting dark," he said to himself. "Meh, I'm going to bed, I'm tired," Drift told Kakashi. "You should, too, guys." "Yeah," Sumika, Kurushii and Legend said in unison. They all went below deck, Drift being the leader, and went to their beds.

Kakashi yawned. It is getting late, he thought an hour after all the others went to sleep. He put his book away and went below deck to where his bed was. He quickly changed into a pair of black cotton pants and left his undershirt with his mask on, then crawled into his bed and fell asleep in three minutes.

"EVERYONE!!! WE'RE HERE EARLY!!" Naruto ran into everyone's room and yelled, still in his PJs. When he got to the last room, Kakashi's, he was about to open the door but Kakashi opened it first and stepped out of the way so Naruto couldn't see him, then he tripped Naruto. He landed face first but quickly sat up, rubbing his nose. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?!?" Naruto screamed, while Sumika and Sakura giggled. "Because you woke me up the first time you yelled," Kakashi said, annoyed. Naruto pouted. "Could you get out of my room now?" Kakashi asked. "Fine, Kakashi-sensei," Naruto said, then walked out. Kakashi closed the door, but he could hear Sumika and Legend laugh at Naruto. He sighed, got dressed in his Jounin uniform and walked on deck. Naruto was actually right for once, Kakashi mused. There, a mile in front of him, was Konohagakure. Sumika walked up beside him, but she wasn't using crutches. "Drift fixed my leg, he became a Medic Nin before he was captured," she told Kakashi, as if reading his mind. He nodded and leaned on the rail lazily. "I should've stayed in bed," Kakashi whispered to himself, then let out a yawn. Sumika smiled, the light of dawn giving her silver eyes a twinkle. "Even though you look underfed and pale, you're still kinda cute," Kakashi whispered to Sumika. She chuckled and yawned slightly. " And you're hair still defects the laws of physics," Sumika retorted. "You got me there," Kakashi said after a minute, then handed her a brush. "You look like you need it," he said, and Sumika took it then started brushing her hair. "Thanks."

When Sumika finished picking at her hair with a brush, they were minutes away from the village. Naruto jumped up in exitement and everyone else felt grateful that they were home, other than Legend and Kurushii. "Might as well stay here," Kurushii said. "Yeah. From what Sumika told us, it sounds like a load of fun," Legend agreed with a smile. Kurushii grinned under his mask and walked to where they could get off the ship, followed by Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto, Drift, Sumika and Kakashi.

As soon as everyone walked into the village, Naruto pointed forward. "NOW!! TO ICHIRAKU RAMEN!!!" he screamed in his hyper-active way, and everyone sweat-dropped. He ran to the ramen shop at full speed while everyone else decided to walk. "Man, he's so annoying," Sakura said. Sumika heard a growling sound, and looked down. "I guess I'm hungry too," Sumika said to no one in particular. She followed Kakashi to his house and took out an apple when they were inside. She took a bite, and didn't seem rotten or poisoned. "Kakashi?" "What now? "Do you still have Emi?" she asked, referring to her 7-year old teddy bear. There were sounds comming from Kakashi's room, then he walked out, holding a small brown teddy bear in his right hand. "Yeah, actually," he answered, then handed Emi to Sumika. She smiled and hugged it. "I don't care how childish it seems, I still love this old thing," she said. Kakashi smiled, scince he took off his mask and his vest. She looked up at Kakashi and blushed. "I didn't remember you b-being so...well..." Sumika looked for the right word. "Cute." Kakashi laughed. "I'm just glad no one else knows what I look like, or else a bunch of girls would try to break into my house or trample me when I get home from a mission," he mused. "I'd just sit back and watch the show," Sumika said with a grin. "Knowing you, you'd take pictures and show them off to my team and your friends, if you have any," Kakashi retorted. Sumika punched his arm playfully. "At least I'm not a lonely old fart!" Sumika told Kakashi and he frowned. "Say's who?" "God," Sumika said plainly. "Naruto isn't God," Kakashi replied. "Eh, good point." She took another bite of her apple and set Emi on the wooden desk.

There was a loud knock on Kakashi's door. Kakashi quickly pulled up hid mask and opened the door. "Eh? Kurushii, Legend? What do you want?" Kakashi asked. "We need a place to stay," Kurushi answered. "Yeah, Drift does, too," Legend added. "You could go see the Hokage!" Sumika yelled from the other room. Legend laughed. "Oh yeah." Kurushii and Legend took off towards the Hokage Tower. Kakashi closed the door, then a scream came from the other room. Kakashi's eye widened and ran into his room, where Sumika was passed out and a man with a black ponytail and an ANBU uniform in front of her.

"You. . . Itachi. . .," Kakashi whispered, his anger
rising sharply. The man turned around. "Kakashi Hatake, odd seeing you here," Itachi Uchiha replied. "I live here, idiot," Kakashi retorted menacingly. Itachi chuckled and said, "This young lady has great potential, Hatake. I haven't seen her in our clan before." "She's only half Uchiha, Itachi, and she's actually one of the Kihaku Clan," Kakashi replied. Itachi turned around and was about to grab Sumika, but Kakashi lunged swiftly but silently and kicked Itachi through his wall, and he fell down outside. Itachi looked like he would land headfirst but he quickly flipped and landed on his hands, then leaped backwards onto his feet. Kakashi jumped down, and Itachi disappeared. He reappeared behind Kakashi and chopped him in his throat. He fell down to the ground, struggling for breath, then Itachi uppercutted Kakashi and was thrown into an alley. He was about to hit the ground, but someone-or something-caught him.

He turned his head around, still trying to breathe normally, and saw Trailia behind him. "Yo, Scarecrow," she
whispered. "His Sharingan isn't activated. You might have a chance scince he's a bit low on his chakra from using it," she told him quietly. She saw Itachi walking over from her Night Eye Jutsu, and disappeared. When Itachi was inside the alleyway Kakashi could breath normally again. He took a deep breath and stood up. "You know it is futile, Hatake," Itachi said coldly. "I won't be sure 'till it's at an end," Kakashi retorted in a similar fashion.

Itachi's eyes narrowed and he disappeared again, but this time he didn't come back. Kakashi sighed in relief,
and walkd to the Hokage Tower. It was around 9: 00 pm, which means Hokage-sama is probably still in his office. When he was just outside his office door, it opened and the Hokage greeted him. "I saw the whole thing, Kakashi-san," he said.
"Trailia-chan is already checking on Sumika to see if she's alright, and I have sent an ANBU squad to patrol the area."
"Whew. Thank you Hokage-sama," Kakashi said, waved goodbye, and walked home.
Kakashi was in front of his door and opened it. The hole he kicked Itachi through was gone already. He smiled
and walked into his bedroom where Trailia was with Sumika. As soon as he walked in, he could here them arguing about something. "I'm fine, Mom!!! I don't wanna go ta' bed!" Sumika yelled. Thank God no one else could here it, Kakashi thought. "It's getting late, and you're starting to look like Kakashi with all the lines under your eyes," Trailia retorted. "You know, it isn't very nice to talk bad about someone when they aren't supposedly there," Kakashi remarked and leaned against the door frame with his arms folded. Trailia and Sumika froze and faced him. "S-sorry Kakashi," Sumika apologized, but he smiled. "You aren't the one making fun of me, Mika. You're fine." He turned his gaze upon Trailia."You, however, are as mean and cruel as always." Sumika giggled, and Trailia frowned immaturely. "Meanie." "Hag." "Stop arguing, it's getting old," Sumika interrupted. "Fine, fine. Oh, and by the way. . . Trailia, I need a place to sleep, so
move," Kakashi said. Trailia sighed and got up hesitantly. "But it was so comfy!" Trailia protested, but Kakashi just shook his head. Sumika hopped out of his bed and leaped into her own, which was across the room.
Trailia unrolled a thin matress in the corner of his room fom Kakashi's closet, took off her trech coat and hung it up, and crawled into it, pulling the covers up to her shoulders. "Why are you sleeping there?" Kakashi asked while laying down in a pair of black boxers with his hands behind his head. "Don't you like my company? Besides, the village gates are closed, and I'm tired," Trailia answered. "What I meant was: Why are you sleeping down there? I have a queen-sized bed, y'know," Kakashi said. Though hesitant at first, Trailia got out of the sleeping bag and crawled into Kakashi's bed. "Ahh, comfy," Trailia remarked. Kakashi chuckled. "Yeah, I know." They both pulled up Kakashi's green, fuuma shrinken-embroided quilt and soon fell asleep.

Dawn soon came around, and Sumika let out a yawn. The previous night, she had dreamed
about a man with white hair and demon's wings saving her from something, but she couldn't put a finger
on it. She got up and went into the kitchen to make breakfast. On the way, she saw Trailia in bed with
Kakashi and chuckled. They make nice couple, she thought. When Sumika finished her soup, she thought
about the man with silver hair and a black face mask. Then she remembered. "Striker Kyros Ecleis,"
she whispered, then Kakashi walked into the room in a pair of long black shorts and a dark blue
undershirt, his mask pulled down. He sat down and started eating a green apple.
"Mornin' Kakashi," Sumika said. "Yo, Mika," he replied. He looked troubled but almost lost in
thought. "Are you okay, Kakashi? You look worse than I did yesterday." Kakashi looked up and stared at
Sumika, then gave her a reassuring smile. "I'm alright," He answered, then took another bite of his apple.
"Liar," she whispered. There was a long silence. "Man, you're too good at spotting liars. You must have
gotten it from your father," Kakashi said to finally end the silence. Then there was a knock on the door.
"Kakashi-sensei!!! Open up, would ya!?" a certain blonde screamed from outside. "I'll open it, scince I'm
dressed," Sumika offered, and got up to open the door. "What do you want, Naruto?" she asked, but then
saw Sakura and Sasuke behind him. "Today is September 15th," Sakura whispered as quietly as she could.
"...Oh yeah," Sumika said the rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "Now I remember. Kakashi! Pull your
mask up and get over here!" Sumika yelled, facing the kitchen. A second later Kakashi walked out of the
kitchen and yawns. "What is it, guys?" Kakashi asked his team. Naruto and Sakura glared. "You were five
hours late for training so we came to get you," Sakura said. "Oh, right." "Get dressed and get to the
training grounds, hurry up!!" Naruto said loudly. "I'll be there in a few minues, okay?" "Fine," Sakura and
Naruto said, but Sasuke said nothing. They left and Sumika closed the door. Kakashi went into his bedroom,
got dressed in his Jounin uniform and walked back out the door. Sumika took a quick shower, dried and
brushed her hair, and got dressed in a dark grey T-shirt and dark blue Chuunin pants, put on her vest,
put her hair in a low ponytail, then walked out the door.

Kakashi was laying on a tree brach, reading his book, while his team was having a contest to
see who could stay on a tree the longest. Sumika appeared on a large branch above him and smiled, but
he didn't notice. She frowned, and screamed, "SCARECROW!!!!" "What the-" Kakashi fell out of the tree
and landed on his side, while Sakura and Naruto fell off of their trees from laughing, so Sasuke won.
Kakashi sat up and rubbed his head then Sumika jumped off and sat next to him. "Geez. For an elite
Jounin, that was horrible," Sumika said to Kakashi. "Today was supposed to be my day off, so what
would you expect?" Kakashi replied. He actually didn't know why he had today off, but he didn't press
the matter further. Sakura, Naruto, and Sasuke walked up to Kakashi, each of them grinning.
"Happy Birthday, Kakashi-sensei!" they all yelled, well, Sasuke said it a little less loudly. Kakashi blinked,
then rubbed the back of his head while smiling. "Well, now I know why," Kakashi said, and his team each
handed him a small gift. Sakura gave him a watch because he's always late, Naruto gave him a free meal
pass at Ichiraku Ramen, and Sasuke gave him a bandanna just in case he lost his headband. They finished
training for the day, so the three Genin walked home. Sumika then handed him her gift. He opened the
box, and the blue diamond with the fire-breathing dragon engraved into it. "I don't need it anymore,"
Sumika said.
"Well then, how about a quick sparring match to prove it?" Kakashi offered, and she accepted.
They walked to the Memorial Stone and took fighting stances. Kakashi made a hand sign and
transformed into a shorter version of him. "Just to even the odds," Kakashi said, then Sumika lunged at
him. She was about to throw a punch at him, but dissapeared. She reappeared behind him and kicked him
in the middle of his back, sending him flying towards a tree, but he landed on the tree with chakra in his
feet then pushed off the tree as hard as he could in Sumika's direction. She took a step back and took a
deep breath. Kakashi appeared in front of her, almost punching her, but a giant white rectangle blocked
the blow, nearly breaking Kakashi's arm. He stopped and sat down as the sheild vanished, Sumika sitting
down as well. "Told ya," Sumika remarked. Kakashi rubbed his fist, wincing from the pain. "You should see
a doctor," Sumika said, looking at Kakashi's bloody hand. "I hate hospitals, let alone seeing a doctor," he
protested. "Well that hasn't changed." "Yeah, I know." Sumika grabbed Kakashi's fist and his eye slammed
shut. "Well, your wrist is broken, I know that much," Sumika said. She threatened to drag him to the
hospital by his hand if he didn't go, but he put his other hand up in defence, his eye wide. "Okay, okay!
I'll go," he insisted. Sumika sighed and stood up, Kakashi did so as well.

While they were walking to the hospital, Kakashi was leaving small blood tracks all the way
there, and Sumika sighed again. Just then, Naruto ran up to them and saw his sensei's hand. He gasped.
"What the heck happened!?" Naruto asked in his usual, loud way, and Kakashi sighed. "None of your
buisness," Sumika answered for him. Naruto stuck out his lower lip, then walked away. "Well, we're here."
"Terrific," Kakashi said. They walked inside, signed in Kakashi, and took a seat. They waited almost an
hour, then a nurse walked in with a clip board. "Kakashi Hatake?" the nurse asked, and Kakashi stood up.
"My, my. We'll have to look at your hand right away," the bruenette nurse said and leaded Kakashi into a
room. "Miss, if you want to, you can come inside too," the nurse offered, and Sumika smiled. "Sure." Sumika
followed them into one of the free hospital rooms, and Kakashi had to take his shirt, gloves and vest off,
but he left his mask on. She touched several areas of his arm, and Kakashi winced once, when she got
to his wrist. "Well, Mr. Hatake, your arm is fine, but your right wrist is broken and it will need a cast
for about a month," the nurse finally said, and Kakashi sighed.

In about a half hour, the cast was on, and his shirt and vest were also. The nice nursed smiled,
said goodbte, and they walked to Kakashi's house. When they got inside, a note was on his couch.
Scarecrow,
I'm heading back to my village.

That was it? Kakashi thought, then Trailia walked inside with a black backpack. "Oh, hi," she
greeted. She looked at Kakashi's cast. "What happened there?" Trailia asked and Kakashi sighed again.
"I punched something," he half-answered. "So, you hite the White Sheild, eh?" "How did you know?" Sumika
asked. "'Cuz, I saw the match," she answered plainly. "And some weird Jounin with fuzzy eyebrows and a
bowl-cut was there, too," Trailia added. "Gai," Kakashi and Sumika said at the same time. "Yup, that's the
one." Just then the said persond walked into the living room from the kitchen. "There you are, my eternal
rival!" he said, then did the good-guy pose. Kakashi turned around and said lazily, "I'm sorry, did you say
something?" "GAH!!! Get a hearing aid, Kakashi!!!" Gai yelled, then saw his hand. "Ah yes! I remember that."
"You need a memory aid, Gai. Now get out of my house," Kakashi said, aggrivated. "Alright, my eternal
rival! We shall meet again!" Gai did another good-guy pose and walked out the door. "Does he ever get
on your nerves?" Trailia asked. "Constantly," Kakashi and Sumika said. "And the bad part is he got a student
who's just like him, minus the vest, and he considers me his rival after he saw me fight before I was taken
to the Snow Country," Sumika added. "Geez, that sucks for you two," Trailia said. "Uh, Trailia, you're a
Medic Nin, right?" "Yeah, why?" "Could you fix my hand before you go?" Kakashi asked, holding up is wrist.
"Eh, sure." Trailia took Kakashi into his room and he sat on his bed. She took his broken hand in her own,
and focused chakra into her index nd middle fingers so it would create something like a knife. She ran
the Chakra Claw along the cast swiftly, but gently, and the cast popped off. Next, green chakra began
to pulsate around her hands, and she put her free hand on top of Kakashi's wrist. This continued for
about a minute, then she let his hand go. "There you go," Trailia said with a smile. "See ya!" she said loudly,
then disappeared. Kakashi turned his wrist around, and it didn't hurt at all. He grinned.
Sumika ran into Kakashi's bedroom and glomped him. "Hey there!" she yelled. He coughed
slightly. "Yo." Sumika reached for Kakashi's mask, and pulled it off. "Up close, you look REALLY cute," Sumika complimented, smiling with a hint of a blush. "Yeah, yeah," he replied, smiling back. Yet again, there was a knock on his door. Sumika hopped off and answered the door, only to find Rock Lee, Gai's prized pupil, standing in front of her. She sighed. "What is it, Lee?" she asked. "I wish to challenge you, Lady Sumika!" Lee said, and did the infamous good-guy pose. Sumika grinned, and accepted. "Alright! Be at the training ground in five minutes, and please don't be late!" Lee bowed and left. "Rock Lee?" Kakashi asked from his bedroom. "Yeah, and I'm leaving to fight him. If you want, you can hide in a tree and watch," Sumika offered. "Sure, I have nothing else better to do." Kakashi pulled up his mask, put the dragon necklace on, and followed Sumika to the training grounds. Right before she entered the training grounds Kakashi disappeared. She walked inside it, and Lee was doing push-ups. "27, 28,2-Oh, Lady Sumika! There you are! Now, shall we begin?" Lee said. "Let me take off my vest, then we'll start." Sumika slipped out of her vest, it was unzipped already, and threw it into the trees, where Kakashi caught it silently. "Alright, let's go!" Sumika shouted, and lunged at Lee.

Lee lunged at Sumika in a smiliar way, and they almost collided, but Sumika turned and vanished. She appeared behind Lee quietly, while he was in the air, and put her feet on his back. She focused chakra into her feet, and she pushed off, sending Lee to the ground. "Please tell me the taijutsu specialist can do better than that," Sumika pleaded with a grin. Lee quickly stood up. "Forgive me, Gai-sensei," Lee said to him self, then knelt down. He reached behind his leg warmers and pulled off some weights then jumped high in the air. Lee spun around, and threw the weights at Sumika. She leaped out of the way just in time, and the weights left a crater in the ground. Sumika landed and stood there, her eyes widened and her mouth agape. "What the-" Lee dashed behind Sumika and kicked her in the spine, sending her flying into a tree. She lay there, motionless, and Kakashi started getting worried. He was about to jump down, but he saw her move. Slowly, she rolled onto her hands and knees and she stood up, blood trickling down the side of her mouth and forhead, and she spit out some blood, smiling. "That actually hurt," Sumika said, then vanished again. She became visible while running at Lee at full speed, lunged forward, and punched Lee square in the face. He was thrown back, almost hitting the Memorial Stone. Lee sat up and coughed a few times, then vanished. Soon Sumika and Rock Lee were throwing punches and kicks so swiftly that their limbs were nothing but blurs. Kakashi's eye widened a bit, and it twitched. Who knew she was as fast as Lee, he thought. She must've secretly trained while imprisoned at the Snow Country. He was snapped out of his thoughts when Sumika ran into him and they fell out of the tree, Sumika landing on top of Kakashi. Sumika got up, whispered a quick 'sorry,' and ran back to fight. Kakashi sat up and rubbed the side of his head and muttered something that Sumika and Lee couldn't hear, then walked to the tree trunk to sit back down. Kakashi leaned against the tree for a few, then Lee was hurled towards him and hit his chest then the tree behind them broke, it falling into some other trees. Kakashi coughed, and Lee looked up at him. "oh, Kakashi-sensei. I'm really sorry," Lee apologized, then stood up again. Kakashi put his hand to his stomach. "I-it's fine," he mumbled, then coughed again and his eyes slammed shut. "Two injuries in one day, and it's my day off, terrific," Kakashi muttered and tried to stand up. By the time he was able to stand, Lee was hurled in his direction, but this time he stepped out of the way, but caught him so he wouldn't hit a tree. "Stop doing that!" Kakashi yelled at Sumika then dropped Lee. She rubbed her head sheepishly. "Sorry 'bout that," she said. " Sure you are," Kakashi replied sarcasticly. "I'm going home before I get killed," Kakashi said, then walked home. "Lee, let's stop for the day," Sumika said, panting. Lee was panting, too. "Yes, we shall continue another day," he agreed, did his and Gai's good-guy pose, and walked to his home, as did Sumika.

When Sumika walked inside her and Kakashi's house, he was sleeping soundly on the couch. "Geez," she mumbled, then sat on his stomach. "Yo," he said tiredly. "Why the heck are you tired? You barely did anything!" she shouted, but Kakashi only smiled. "Being thrown out of a two-story tree and almost getting crushed takes a lot out of you," he replied, then took his vest and headband off then pulled his mask down, a small trail of dried blood ran down out of his mouth onto the bottom of his chin. "Ouch." "Yeah, it hurt when someone was thrown at you at one-hundred miles an hour," Kakashi replied crossly. "Got me there," Sumika muttered after a while and got off of him. He sat up and she sat next to him, her head leaning on his shoulder. She let out a yawn, and fell asleep moments later. "Somebody used a bit too much of her stamina for the day," Kakashi mumbled and looked at his clock. It was 5:46 pm. He sighed and picked up Sumika bridal-style, then carried her into his room, and layed her on his ben then covered her up. Before he left, he kissed Sumika on her cheeck, smiled, and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

As Kakashi walked out of the bathroom, in black jeans and a dark grey dress shirt, he glanced at Sumika, sound asleep. He walked into his kitchen to cook something, scince all he had to eat today was some soup. He found some sushi in his fridge and warmed it up a little. Kakashi walked to the table and took a pair of chopsticks then began to eat. Just as he finished eating his food, Sumika came in, rubbing her right eye and yawning. "Yo, Kakashi," she mumbled and sat beside him. She took an orange from the middle of the table and peeled off the skin then took a bite. Kakashi sighed. "Bored?" Sumika asked. "Yeah." "Umm, there's a couple jutsus I created when I was at Snow Country if you wanna see them later," she offered, and he nodded. "Alright."

An hour later, when Sumika regained enough stamina and chakra, she led Kakashi to a clearing by the Memorial Stone. "First thing's first," Sumika said and made the signs of the ram, tiger, boar, dog and monkey. "Wind Style: Wind Blade Jutsu!" she cried then shot her right arm up diagnally. Soon, white chakra shot out from her fingers and zigzagged across the air but died away soon. Sumika exhaled. "Now, this one takes up all of my chakra to use, so if I pass out, don't get worried," she said and took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Sumika made the signs of the serpent, rat, ram, and monkey. "Exploding Jutsu!" she cried again and slowly brought her hands apart, still in the form of the monkey hand sign. A swirling ball of silver chakra was appearing in between her hands. Sumika pushed her hands together with some difficulty, then shot the ball into the middle of the clearing. She then created a dome-shaped White Sheild around them, then the ball exploded. The explosion left the clearing a heap of dirt as it died away and the sheild vanished. Sumika was breathing heavy, then fell forward but was caught by Kakashi... "Amazing," he mumbled, then warped to their apartment as she passed out.

Kakashi was leaping from tree to tree, then from rooftop to rooftop. He was about to hop down to his apartment door, but saw someone there. He decided to see what he does. He was an inch shorter than Kakashi, and had a similar haircut, eccept his hair is a dark brown color. He had a black muscle shirt with green flames, and pants of the same fashion, black with green flames at the bottom of the legs. His eyes looked familiar, Kakashi thought, then looked down to Sumika. She slowly opened her silver eyes, but shut them from the light. His eyes look like hers, he thought. He looked at the person, but he was passed out. Kakashi's eye widened then he jumped down. He opened his door, put Sumika on his bed, then walked outisde again to look at the limp body before him. Kakashi picked him up, carried him inside, and set him on his couch. "Terrific," he whispered to himself.

Kakashi has been sitting on the table in front of his couch for about an hour, then the boy before him stirred slighty, then slowly opened his grey eyes. "Wha...where a-am I?" the boy asked hoarsly. "In my apartment," Kakashi replied, and the kid shot up. "Hatake, Kakashi?" he asked again. "Yeah, what of it?" he replied. "I came to see you," he said. "My name is Kasai Tenma." "Nice to meet you, but how did you know where I live?" Kakashi asked. "Well, I know two people who know where you live," he answered, and he turned so he could sit on the couch normally. "Who are those people?" "Gai, for one. I have to live with him." "I feel very sorry for you." Yeah, yeah. And the other is-" "Kasai??" Kakashi looked up and the kid turned his head around, towards Kakashi's bedrooom, and saw Sumika standing there, wide awake. "Hey, Sumika," Kasai greeted. "That's the other one," Kakashi muttered, and smiled under his mask. "What are you doing here?" Sumika asked curiously. "I want to join Kakashi's team, I can't stand being with Gai anymore," Kasai answered darkly. "Especially when Rock Lee comes over to visit every single day." "Now I really feel sorry for you," Kakashi said and Sumika sighed. "I just fought him earlier today. I accidently hurled him at Kakashi and I almost killed him, so he says," she said, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly. Kasai didn't look suprized. "I'm just suprized he isn't dead yet," he said and Sumika giggled, then sat down next to him. "Last time I saw you, you were only an inch taller than me," Sumika remarked and looked up at Kasai's fair-skinned face. "Now you're only an inch shorter than him," she pointed to Kakashi. "Yeah," Kasai and Kakashi replied at the same time. "Eh, I'm hungry, and I promised to meet Naruto at the Ramen shop, so I'll see you two later." Sumika stood up, waved, and walked out the door. "Is she still as amazing as I remembered her?" Kasai asked. "Yeah, probably. She showed me two jutsu she created while she was in Snow Country. " "Ah?" "One of them was the Wind Blade Jutsu, which took little chakra to use, but looked powerful. The next was her Chakra Explosion." Kakashi's eye twitched. "It could have taken out all of Konoha if it were big enough," he said, and sighed. "It doesn't help she can use her white chakra now," Kakashi told Kasai, and took out his amulet, which was Sumika's. "That's the Kihaku Tenkaichi Kahou, eh?" Kasai remarked. "Yep." Kasai winced, looking at his arm, and it was wrapped up. "What happened?" he asked. "I dunno really, some Sound Ninja attacked you. I had to take the kunai out of your arm and the shuriken out of your back, though." Kasai's eyes were starting to get heavy, and he passed out again.

Sumika was sitting next to Naruto Uzumaki at Ichiraku Ramen, slurping chicken-flavored ramen happily. Naruto was on his fourth bowl, while Sumika was only on her first. She had just finished her ramen, Naruto finished his fourth bowl, and Sumika put money on the table to pay for their ramen. She was walking Naruto to his apartment. "Sumika?" "What is it, Naruto?" "Uhh, what does Kakashi-sensei look like without his mask?" Naruto asked. "Uhh, let's see...If I were an adult, I would say he was either 'extremely handsome,' or 'hot.'" Sumika replied. "AW, C'MON!! NOW I REALLY WANNA SEE HIS FACE!!" Naruto yelled, earning some dirty looks from pedestrians. They finally arrived at his apartment, and Naruto left. Sumika walked to her apartment, opened the door, and saw Kasai passed out on the couch again. "I won't ask," she said, and hung her trench coat up. "How was it?" Kakashi asked. "Alright, other than Naruto screaming at the top of his lungs that he wants to see your face. I told him that it wouldn't appen anytime soon before he left," Sumika explained. "Ah. He's been saying that a lot lately..." "I'm not suprized," Kasai whispered tiredly. Sumika looked at him. "Feeling any better?" she asked. "I suppose," he answered, then sat up slowly, gritting his teeth. His back was sore. "Where did you run off to?" Kasai asked. "I went to eat some ramen with Naruto Uzumaki," she answered. "Ah.." "Want anything to eat?" Sumika asked. "Uh-" There were random shout heard outside. "KASAI!!! WHERE ARE YA!! IT'S TIME FOR YOUR HOURLY TRAINING!!!" "Kuso, it's Bushy Brow Senior," Kasai mumbled. "If you want, you could hide out here for a while," Kakashi offered, and Kasai offered gladly. "Alright, go into my room while I take care of Gai, okay?" "Yeah." Kasai stood up with little difficulty and walked into Kakashi's room then sat on his bed, Sumika following and sitting next to him. "Yo," Kasai said. "Hey there." "So, you were in the Snow Country?" he asked and Sumika nodded with a frown. "Look at my left eye closely," she told Kasai, and he stared at her left eye. "What's with the scar?" Kasai asked curiously. "I was basically beaten for four years. Thank God Kakashi and his team saved me when they did, 'cause I might have died that day," she explained then sighed. "That's the only wound that's still visible."

Kakashi walked up to Gai with his hands in his pockets. "What are you doing, Gai?" he asked irritably. "You're breaking people's hearing aids with all the yelling." "My precious Kasai hasn't returned home for his training!" he yelled sadly. "I have to find him, my rival! Help me find him!" Gai turned to face Kakashi, and he was reading Itcha Itcha Paradise. He looked up. "Hm? I'm sorry, did you say something?" he asked. "DARN YOU, KAKASHI!! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO ACT SO COOL!?!?!" Gai screamed and ran off. "Well, that takes care of that," Kakashi muttered and walked home. When he got there, Gai was banging on his door. "OPEN UP, KASAI!!!" he yelled, and Kakashi sneaked up on him and punched him in the back of his head. "Stop trying to break my door, and that 'Kasai" kid isn't there," Kakashi said somberly. "FINE!! I SHALL SEE YOU AT ANOTHER TIME, MY ETERNAL RIVAL!!" Gai stomped off after doing his good-guy pose. Kakashi sighed in relief and opened his door, but it broke off of its hinges. Terrific, he thought. "Sumika! Could you help me put this door back on?" he called. Sumika walked in. "Sheesh, Gai," she muttered and picked up the door. " I'm going to do a small fire jutsu to re-attach it, alright> You need to hold it in place," he explained, and she nodded. She slipped it in place and Kakashi did the sign of the tiger. a small blue flame appeared right above his index finger and slowly molded the broken hinges together. "Uh, Kakashi. Kasai passed out again and I'm taking care of him, because Gai just got a B-ranked mission to go on with some other Jounin," Sumika said. "And I heard you're one of the Jounin going with him." "So much for my day off..." Kakashi finished molding the hinges, then he opened the door and closed it again. "Kakashi, you need to go now," she urged and Kakashi sighed. "Fine, fine..." Kakashi walked out the door and closed it behind him.

Sumika was jumping from rooftop to rooftop to Gai's house, where Kakashi had put Kasai after he passed out for the third time. She slipped in through the open window and saw Kasai sleeping in a bed. "Kasai...What in the world did happened?" she asked quietly as she sat in a chair beside his bed. He stirred and creaked his eyes open. "Su-Sumika?" he asked. "Yes, it's me. Don't worry, Kakashi told me to look over you while he and Gai are on a mission." "Kasai? What the heck happened?" "...I was attacked by Sound Ninja. Remember me sister? The one who hit me with a shuriken is the same shinobi who killed her..." Kasai yawned and soon fell asleep. She heard footsteps outside and a knock on the door. She got out of the wooden chair, walked over to the door, and opened it. She thought it was Gai, and was going to tell him what happened. She would, if it were Gai at the door. "...." Sumika's eyes widened.

A Sound Nin was at the door, but only one. She quickly drew three kunai, leaped back, and threw two at the Sound Nin then took off her trench coat. The first one miseed by an inch, but as he turned around, the second hit him square in the back. He winced, but still continued to fight. He lunged himself at her, and sliced at her with the kunai that was stuck in his back. Fortunately, Sumika had one left and blocked the attack. She quickly did the signs of the ram, tiger, boar, dog and monkey. "Wind Style: Wind Blade Jutsu!" Sumika cried and shot her hand at the ninja. White chakra was about to shoot out, but someone grabbed her arm and brought it down then grabbed her other hand, and stuck them in her back. She tried wiggling out of his grip, but the other Sound Ninja was way too strong. The first ninja drew his own kunai, and walked slowly over to Sumika, laughing at the fear in her widened eyes. He drew the kunai back, and lunged it into Sumika's stomach. She let out a scream from the pain, blood flowing out of the wound.

Kasai stirred from the loud sound and shot up in bed. Sumika was lying on the floor, blood building up around her stomach. The two Sound Nin had their backs to them, cackling like madmen. Kasai's widened eyes narrowed in anger, drew a kunai, and threw it into the back of the shinobi with the bloody knife in his hand. He leaped outof bed and shoved the kunai with his foot, sending it deeper. The Nin fell to the ground and Kasai helped Sumika stand. "You alright?" he asked, worried. "Y..Yeah." "Can you do a Wind Blade right now?" Sumika nodded and did the hand signs as fast as she could. "Wind Blade Jutsu!" she yelled hoarsly, and before the Sound Nin could stop it, white chakra zigzagged across the room, slicing the Nin to bits. Her legs shook, and she fell. Kasai caught her before she hit the floor. "T-take me to Kakashi's apartment, Gai can clean this when... he gets back," she whispered, and Kasai nodded, walking to Kakashi's place. Luckily, it was late and no one was out to see them, but the Hokage was secretly watching them. Kasai arrived at Kakashi's place and opened the door. "You can use Kakashi's bed until he comes back, he won't mind," she said quietly, and Kasai nodded. He layed her on the couch and got some bandages to wrap up her stomach wound. "Hopefully you won't die from blood loss," he said, seeing that Sumika's already fair skin had gotten a shade paler. Kasai finished wrapping up her stomach, and carried her to her bed. Kasai set Sumika down, tucked her in, and crawled into Kakashi's bed and soon fell asleep peacefully.

Kasai tossed and turned in Kakashi's bed, then he opened his eyes. "That noise..." He sat up and looked where the sound came from, but all was dark. A door? A door opened, and a currently deceased Sound Nin walked inside then two blurs came from his hand. Kunai! They fly at his sister, but Kasai can't move from intense fear. As it comes closer to hi sister's back, his instincs kick in and he throws a shuriken and knocks the first kunai off course, then throws another kunai to stop the second one. Then light poured into his eyesight, then snapped his eyes shut. In a minute he opened them again, then heard a soft noise, comming from Sumika's bed. He looked over, then just listened.

Has no one told you, she's not breathing
Hello
I am your might, giving you someone to talk to
Hello......
If I smile and don't
Believe
Soon I know I'll wake
From this dream
Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken
Hello
I am the lie
Living for you so you can hide
Don't cry.......
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Hello
I'm still here
All that's left of yesterday....

As she ended the song, she took in a deep breath, "That was..." Kasai couldn't find the right words. "Thanks,"
Sumika whispered, smiling. "Why are you up this late?" "I have a tendancy to wake up at 4:00. Weird, eh?"
"Yeah," he replied. They heard the doorknob twisting, and someone stepped inside. Kasai squinted, and saw
a few strands of silver hair. Kakashi, he concluded. The black being walked into his room and flipped on
the lights, seeing Kasai and Sumika awake. "Yo," Kakashi said tiredly. Sumika looked him over and saw
several small cuts along his arms and legs. "What happened?" she asked. "Long story..." "If you want, you
can sleep here," Kasai offered and Sumika mentally laughed. It's his bed, he should decide if you're allowed
to sleep there or not, she thought. "Nah, that's fine...I probably would've passed out on the couch, anyway."
Kakashi flipped the lights off, and walked into the living room. The heard a thump, and they both concluded
that Kakashi just flopped onto the couch. Kasai yawned and layed back down, then soon fell asleep again.

It was almost one in the afternoon, but everyone was still asleep, excluding Sumika. She had gone off to
train Kakashi's team, lettting him and Kasai sleep in. Kakashi still had his entire Jounin outfit, scince he
had been to tired to take anything off, even his forhead protector was still covering his Sharingan Eye.
Kakashi twitched a bit then his right eye opened half-way. There were small spots of blood on the couch,
from his random slices and cuts on his body. He heaved a sigh and slowly sat up, yawning. He got up and
slunk into his bathroom to take a shower, after he took off his vest, sandals and forhead protector.
In ten minutes he was out, only in a pair of boxers, so he went to his wardrobe closet. Kakashi opened it
andd took out a white T-shirt with the ANBU symbol on the back and a pair of dark blue PJ pants then
got dressed. But before he put his shirt on he grabbed an undershirt wih a face mask attached to it and
slipped it on first. He walked back into his living room and flopped on the couch, looking at some light
cuts on his left arm. "Maybe I should go get these checked," he said to himself, then sighed. He got up
again and got a pair of Jounin pants and a black T. he took off hi other clothes, put them on, and walked
to the Konoka Hospital. He arrived there in 5 minutes, signed himself in, and sat on a bench. He fiddled
with his fingers for about ten minutes and the sam nurse from before walked into the waiting room.
